Each and every assignment, whether it's system analysis, implementation or post implementation review, taught us one thing; no matter how well thought over a project is, during development there is always a change in design.  Reasons could be many but one needs to reckon that in each of the phases in SDL there is a discovery phase which if not carefully delved with gives rise to unforeseen problems.

To identify the various facets of this discovery phase experience plays a vital role, not just technical experience but a mixture of domain knowledge and technical know-how.
